Peacocks are known for their ability to eat and digest plants and animals that are harmful or poisonous to others including scorpions and some poisonous snakes. Early Christian art used representations of the peacock or its feathers as a quiet symbol for resurrection.
We'll celebrate the liturgy of the last supper, and Jesus' night of anguish, prayer, and submission as he headed to the cross. We will gather at Mt. Tabor (picnic shelter A), to read, pray, share communion, and depart in silent reflection.
We'll have another family meeting to update and discuss how things are going and what's on the horizon for us in the coming year.
We'll get together, enjoy some good beer and some time together at the Commons on SE Belmont & 7th.
Ash Wednesday begins our season of Lent - 40 days of fasting & 6 days of feasting - leading up to Easter and our celebration of Christ's resurrection. This is a time for reflection, prayer, and service, as we consider Jesus' suffering for us, and the call to deny our own comforts and ease in the course of following him.
We'll be together for worship with all kids and families included on Christmas morning.
