Sunday discipleship - the learning environment -
Children, who are able and willing, are welcome to participate in the entire Sunday worship service.
At this stage in the life of Hope children's ministry is most like an old-fashion one room school house. All our elementary age and younger kids will be learning together in one room.
We believe this provides unique opportunities for their learning! Our children will not just receive instruction, but will also teach and serve one another as they participate in activities with older and younger children.
The following age overview is a loose structure which we use to minister to children:
Infants Baby's that are not yet ready to play in a room of toddlers are welcome to stay in worship with their parents. We provide a cry room in the back that you may use to feed or soothe. We also try to reserve the last few rows for parents with kids and moms are welcome to nurse here as well as the cry room.
Toddlers - preschool We will provide a care giver for the younger children and a volunteer teacher from the congregation. This room is equipped with toys and a diaper changing station. They sing, pray, read simple Bible stories and have a coloring sheet.
Kindergarten - elementary age Young elementary age kids begin participating more fully in worship. Parents are given the option of sending their kids to the back of the commons area during the sermon. The kids will have a lesson and very simple activity. The kids will return to worship during the song after the sermon.
We STRONGLY encourage you to interact with your kids about the worship service. Get them to ask questions, practice the songs on the way home, talk about the announcements, pray for people that you met at church. The ride home is prime discipleship time with your kids!
