Aaron Morris and his family moved to Portland, and joined us at Hope in June 2014.
Meet the Morris Family!
Aaron & Kara grew up in Dallas, TX, were high school sweethearts, and married during their senior year of college. Aaron has filled various ministry roles since 2000, finished his ThM from Dallas Seminary in 2007, and served as one of the pastors at New St. Peter's Presbyterian Church in Dallas from 2008 - 2014. Kara is a Speech Pathologist and practices a few days a week, primarily with geriatric patients. When they're not fighting crime, Walker, Sophie June, & Ford love to hike, camp, and run amuck with the youngest (and furriest) member of the family, John Grady.
Aaron & Kara enjoy the high art of Mad Men, David Simon, and all things Larry David. You'd be surprised how much Dick Whitman & Omar Little can teach you about identity, devotion, and community as followers of Jesus.
Aaron and Kara went through church planting assessment with the PCA's Mission to North America in April of 2011, and started looking for the right culture, place, and opportunity to plant. They were originally called by the leadership of Hope to plant in North Portland, and in God's providence stayed as our pastor.
Aaron and Kara are committed to strong relationships inside the church and in their neighborhood & city. We are excited to have them at Hope!
